Hotels in Pattaya have closed temporarily while the area is under lockdown due to the spread of Covid-19. Tourism in the once-popular coastal destination has been decimated by the pandemic travel restrictions put in place since March last year.
A resurgence in cases in December which started among Burmese migrants at a seafood market have spread around the country. Ministers ordered Chonburi province, including Pattaya, to be a ‘highly controlled’ Covid-19 zone, limited the people moving in and out of the province.

Some of the hotels in Pattaya that are closed temporarily are Hardrock Hotel, D Varee Jomtien Beach, and Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya.
