Thai people celebrated Mother's Day on Aug 12.
Mother’s Day was first introduced in Thailand on 15th April, 1950.
In 1976, Mother’s Day was changed to 12th Aug to commemorate HM the Queen Sirikit’s birthday.
People wear blue, the colour representing Mother's Day.
They took the chance to express their gratefulness to their moms.
In the morning, an alms-giving ceremony will be held
followed by the candle-lighting ceremony and firework display.
