MEGAN DOES PATTAYA - The world's largest wooden castle.. in Pattaya! Fabulous 103fm (15 March 2024)

Join Megan as she discovers the world's largest wooden castle, the Sanctuary of truth.

The Sanctuary of Truth museum takes you on a journey of the seven truths of life, and every room has a story. Construction began back in 1981, and is still ongoing today. Made entirely of carefully hand-carved wood, by ancient Thai craftsmanship techniques to eliminate the use of nails.

Upon arrival at the museum, you can visit the workshop, and see first-hand how the pieces are carefully carved, and how each individual piece fits together. You can also sit down with the carpenters and try your hand at wood carving with their team. Helmets must be worn at all times inside the museum and are provided free of charge, and appropriate dressing is essential.

The Sanctuary of Truth is now open in the evening, offering night tours with beautiful views of the museum in a different light.

Other special activities include speed boat trips offering a different view of the museum from the bay, rowing boat rides, horse & carriage tours, horse riding, elephant rides, traditional Thai foot massages, a mini zoo, forest hikes, Thai costume rental for great photo opportunities, and delicious Thai cuisine in their restaurant.

Join their daily tours of the museum, offered in Thai, English, Chinese, Russian, and Korean.

The Sanctuary of Truth is located on Naklua Soi 12, and is open daily from 8am until 8:30pm.

The Sanctuary of Truth is an unfinished museum in Pattaya, Thailand designed by Thai businessman Lek Viriyaphan.

The museum structure is a hybrid of a temple and a castle that is themed on the Ayutthaya Kingdom and of Buddhist and Hindu beliefs. The building is notably constructed entirely out of wood!
