The Chao Phraya River. Another vintage footage find. This was shot in the late 50's by an English tourist traveling alone. I'm not sure where the tour starts but it clearly finishes at Wat Intharawihan - home of the GIANT Buddha. Again the audio is a re-creation based on a modern longboat trip up the Chao Phraya. Rice barges and other working boats can be seen throughout.

I'm still really digging these restorations. I get a bit of nerd-satisfaction in the idea that footage long lost is coming to light.

Chao Phraya River Tour 1971 - Bangkok Thailand - 8mm HD

A longboat tour starting in Bangkok, cruising on the Chao Phraya River to a floating market. Can't be sure if it is the Damnoen Saduak floating market, but it is the Bangkok area for sure.

This was a silent 8mm reel. The audio was recorded in 2008 on the same body of water while we filmed Lost and Found Episode 1: Thailand.
