Win Win Nwe and her family live without electricity in Myanmar. They are among the 84% of people in rural Myanmar who have no electricity connection—making it hard for students to study at night, making them feel unsafe when walking on dark, unlit roads. The low number of connections to the electricity grid across the country creates hardship and stalls development. But there is good news: Myanmar is rolling out its National Electrification Plan, supported by the World Bank, which will bring universal access to electricity by 2030. This means 7.2 million new connections over the next 15 years.
