50 hurt in train-truck collision
More than 50 passengers and two train drivers were injured when a Bangkok-Yala special express train hit a six-wheeled oil truck at a railway crossing in Surat Thani's Phun Phin district on Sunday morning, reports said.
The accident occurred at about 8.40am at the railway crossing, which had no barrier, in front of Wat Bo Klang temple in tambon Tha Sathon when the truck cut in front of the train.
The two drivers of the train, which was destined for Yala, were seriously injured, while about 50 passengers were also hurt.
